"Cut out carbs, not fat if you want to lose weight, Harvard study finds"
Another bit of news that is old news! (I refer to the news that processed meats cause cancer).
I am glad they are getting it out there, but we have known that SIMPLE carbohydrates (sugars) and PROCESSED carbohydrates are worse than fats for a while.
Back in the 1970's they tried to tell us that Fats were bad - made us fat and increased cholesterol - and people bought that terrible margarine to replace butter and ate more sugars and less fats ...... and the illness increased! In the 2000's scientists came out with the truth!
A bit of saturated fat like that found in butter, coconut oil, eggs and yoghurt in moderation is okay and good fats like avocados, nuts, seeds and bananas are very important and can be eaten everyday.
Just make sure you avoid those nasty trans fat and hydrogenated fat found in processed foods like packet biscuits and cakes, and fries and donuts - plus these foods all have sugar! Chips (fries) are also really bad - stick to roast potatoes.
A good article though; worth a read. - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/health/news/11963385/Cut-out-carbs-not-fat-if-you-want-to-lose-weight-Harvard-study-finds.html
